Questa cache avrebbe dovuto essere pubblicata il 2 maggio 2020 ma a causa delle limitazioni dei movimenti e per maggiore sicurezza esce a tre mesi di distanza.
Il geocaching nasce negli Stati Uniti nel maggio del 2000 a seguito di un atto dell’amministrazione Clinton con cui viene rimossa la Selective Availability, ovvero un sistema di disturbo per i GPS di uso civile che era stata introdotta nel 1991 per volere del Dipartimento della Difesa.
Dalle 00:00 del 2 maggio dunque i GPS civili hanno un margine di errore inferiore ai 10 metri.
Il 3 maggio Dave Ulmer, un consulente informatico di Portland (Oregon), decide di testare la novità legislativa con il suo apparecchio.
Nasconde dunque su una delle colline della sua città un contenitore in plastica nero con all’interno delle videocassette, del software geografico, una fionda, una scatola di fagioli e soprattutto un quaderno e una penna.
Tornato a casa posta un messaggio sul gruppo Usenet sci.geo.satellite-nav dove annuncia di aver nascosto il primo “stash”, alle coordinate
N 45° 17.460 W 122° 24.800
e detta le regole base del suo “gioco”: se prendi qualcosa, metti qualcosa e lascia un segno del tuo passaggio sul logbook.
E’ nato il geocaching!

Questa challenge è un omaggio al geocaching, un modo per ricordare le care vecchie cache degli esordi. Alcune sono ancora attive altre sono archiviate e sono ormai solo un ricordo. E' naturalmente anche un invito a preferirle nelle ricerche e per gli owner a tenerle vive!
Ma veniamo alla challenge che risulta essere ampiamente alla portata di tantissimi geocacher. Innanzitutto ricordo che la troverete alle coordinate postate. E' un luogo molto frequentato quindi cercate di non farvi sorprendere. Mi raccomando, risistematela nella stessa posizione in cui l'avete trovata: il magnete deve essere verso di voi e la "punta" della cache rivolta in direzione lago!
Requisiti
Per loggare il found dovete aver trovato almeno 7 delle 77 cache italiane più vecchie che erano ancora attive nel momento in cui avete iniziato a fare geocaching.
Dunque nella vostra lista possono essere presenti cache ora archiviate ma che erano attive quando, magari un bel po' di anni fa, le avete trovate.
Non c'è bisogno di spremere il cervello per cercare di ricordare, basta eseguire il checker sottostante:
Se avete i requisiti per favore postate il risultato del checker nel vostro log, sarà divertente conforntare la vostra storia di geocacher con quella di altri!
Se non avete i requisiti potete loggare la cache con una nota e poi trasformarla in found quando li avrete raggiunti: allo scopo il risultato del checker vi fornirà la vostra personale lista. Cosa volere di più?
This challenge is a tribute to geocaching, a way to remember the dear old caches of the beginning. Some are still active, others are archived and are now only in our memory. It is of course also an invitation to prefer them while geocaching and for owners to keep them alive!
But let's talk about the challenge which is widely available to many geocachers. First of all, remember that you will find it at the listed coordinates. It is a very popular place so please use stealth. I recommend to place it in the same position in which you found it: the magnet must be towards you and the "tip" of the cache facing the lake (even you don't see the lake from GZ I assume you will know where it is!)
Requirements
To log the "found it" you must have found at least 7 of the 77 oldest Italian caches that were still active at the time you started geocaching.
So in your list there may be caches that are now archived but that were active when, perhaps quite a few years ago, you found them.
No need to squeeze the brain trying to remember, just run the checker below:
If you fulfill the requirements, please post the checker output in your log, it will be fun to compare your geocacher history with that of others!
If you do not fulfill the requirements, you can log the cache with a "note" and then turn it into a "found it" when you'll have fulfilled them: for this purpose, the checker output will provide you with your personal "to do list". Easy, isn't it?
