Deception Pass State Park contains 3854 acres within two counties. On the north side of the bridge is Fidalgo Island which is in Skagit County and the south side of the bridge is Whidbey Island in Island county. The park has 77,000 feet of saltwater shoreline and 33.900 feet of fresh water shoreline. An entrance permit is required and can be obtained on site. Activities in the park include camping, hiking, fishing (both fresh and salt water), crabbing, and boating. The highlight of the park is the Deception Pass Bridge. The current through the pass can be spectacular created by extreme tides that can have a rise/fall of over 16 feet. Stop and enjoy the views and activites.
