Geocache Description:

Please note: Just a reminder to new players especially, you must sign the logbook to log a find. Just spotting the cache is not enough. You need a pole to “fish” it out of the tree (and to put it back!) Thank you.

Geocaching is free. Of course we all know that.

However to get the most out of the game people will usually need to spend a little money here and there.

One of the expenditure lines is for Tools of The Trade aka TOTTs.

There are many of these ranging from things which help you to solve puzzles, project coordinates, or to access a GZ or a cache at a GZ. Some caches can not be accessed without a specific TOTT. And sometimes this requirement is reflected in either or both of the D and T ratings.

This is the first in a series which contains caches that you will probably find easier to do using one or more TOTT.

Whether it is working out the final location or accessing the cache once there, there will be something you will probably benefit from. Part of the fun is that we won't necessarily tell you in advance which TOTT you might need. Of course this may not be a problem for the experienced cacher. But for newer cachers some of these caches might open new windows of opportunities.

This is #01 in the series. It is a Traditional cache.

Traditional caches can be the easiest and quickest to find. After all you have the final coordinates. All you need to do is go there and find the cache. But this is not always easy. At the time of publication of this cache, the Australian cache which currently has the most DNFs without any finds is a Traditional (GC5XNK4 Eagle Rock - Daddy Cool).

Things like camouflage, distraction, misdirection, false caches, and the need for TOTTs are all methods that hiders might use to make the Traditional cache harder to find. Hiders may use more than one of these.

With this series if you move the container please ensure it is replaced in its exact original location for the next person.

If by some chance you are unable to put the container back, please do not leave it in an alternate less secure location. Contact the CO who will endeavour to assist. Thank you.

Good luck. And stay safe.
