The Citizen's Park Traditional Cache

This cache is placed on the Ancient Hammock Trail at Highlands Hammock State Park. 

The park is open from 8 am until sunset, 365 days a year. 

A state park entrance fee is required.

In 1931, Highlands Hammock was a private park owned and financed by Highlands Hammock, Inc., composed of local citizens, and the later partner Florida Botanical Garden and Arboretum Association. This private park was opened to the public in March 1931.  By 1935, funding difficulties convinced the association's board to place the park in state custody.
