Geocache Description:

29 February 2020, 16:00 - 16:30

Join us for an afternoon coffee or tea and get the Leap Day souvenir.
Where: TimHortons, 17310 Yonge St, Newmarket
When: February 29th of course. From 4pm to 4:30pm or so.

A leap day is observed because the Earth's period of orbital revolution around the Sun takes approximately 6 hours longer than 365 whole days. A leap day compensates for this lag, realigning the calendar with the Earth's position in the  Solar System; otherwise, seasons would occur later than intended in the calendar year. The Chinese adjust their calendar by adding a day in the year of the Rat or Dragon or Monkey.
