GZ not only overlooks the Roller Coaster trails, but provides a panoramic view of Quartzsite & the tens of thousands of RV’s scattered everywhere … quite impressive!
BEAUTIFUL day to be out enjoyin’ Silverheel’s “Roller Coaster” series in the new-to-us stock 2020 Wrangler JL (last year’s 2018 replacement of our 2002 JK, which we wish we’d never replaced – the new ones aren’t real Jeeps, just multiple computers on wheels ☹) which ‘andled the whoopdeedoos nicely!
So impressed were we with the series that we placed this “Roller Coaster Overlook” in honor of Silverheels, the likely instigator of the SKP GC Rally in Q, which we’re presently attending. This morn, a few dozen of her SKP GC BOF friends signed cards in tribute to her & two of us decided to check out some of the Roller Coaster caches we’d not previously visited … in her honor. This is our 7th such Rally, always a great event … Thank you, Linda & Team!!
So, this cache is in honor of Linda & in appreciation of her always positive spirit of adventure & her unending work o/n the local geocaches & events.
This one’s a rather green 8 x 4 x 14” US Mint silver dollar box containing a Sony TR3550 radio,
Social Insecurity cards, Ron Paul DVD, Jury Rights Day card, Original Can o’ Beans card, purple gemstones, golf T, floss, World’s shortest Political Quiz card & a ball marker.
We parked at RC #5 & walked up a ways … we’d prefer to put it up higher, but the sun kept getting’ lower & we didn’t wanna descend in the dark … may return & elevate it a bit some. It’s presently at 1.361’.
Just another Park-n-Grab … if you ignore the elevation gain/loss over rather steep & unstable scree ‘twixt the parkin’ & the grabbin’. “Hand shoes” recommended … ‘specially for the descent.
