Geocache Description:


This cache is placed at Highlands Hammock State Park

The park is open from 8 am until sunset, 365 days a year.

A state park entrance fee is required.

 

In 1931, the park became accessible to the public for the first time, and the same year on Sunday afternoon, March 15, 1931 the dedication ceremony took place with a crowd of 4,000 gathered for official opening.  The dedication included numerous speakers, musical presentation and the official transfer of the title.  The picture below shows the dedication document.
