Park in the village of Appleton and follow the path down to the magical Aslan's Spring.
Geologists will tell you this is where the Hazelbury Bryan formation a reasonably permeable Sandstone formation meets the less permeable Oxford Clay formation. Others will tell you it is the magical drinking fountain for lions.
Why not follow the public path and stream all the way down to the River Thames and then back to the village. If you have children who still have energy why not enjoy play and picnics in the Jubilee Gardens, with ping pong and lots of play equipment.
