Welcome to North Tonawanda and Mayors Park!
Â
UPDATES INCLUDED!!!!
I am hoping that you will join me for my Community Celebration as well as my 18th Cachaversary!!!  Celebrating my hometown community located along the Erie Canal! Is there a souvenir?       Â
Hey, one of my first hides was a letterbox in this park, GCGJM7,....did you find it? Â I have also hosted at least two other events in this park.
Details:
Picnic in the Park
Mayors Park, Pavilion #3 This one has a kitchen and electricity
Sunday, August 23, 2020, 17:00 to 19:00 hours, 5:00 to 7:00pm
Mayors Park is located along Sweeney Street...watch for the sign to turn in.
YES!!! THE EVENT IS STILL ON!!!!
YES!!! THERE IS A COMMUNITY CELEBRATION SOUVENIR!!!!
Yes!!! Masks are required unless you are snacking!
1. I have extended the hours to give more time for staggering the time spent here. You have a choice of parking, signing the logbook, chatting for a few minutes....or staying for as long as you are comfortable and we do not get too crowded!
2. This will now be a SNACK ATTACK, not a picnic as previously planned. Individual snacks will be provided, but please bring your own drinks.
3. There will NOT be a Travel Bug Exchange table!! If you bring a TBUG and you want to trade, find someone and do it in person.
4. There will be NO RAFFLE this time around...sad but easier on the us all.
5. Please remember, parking is up above from Shelter #3. Only 2 HANDICAP parking spaces are at the shelter.
6. PLEASE!!! I am so excited that we are able to hold this event....finally, so let's respect the current social guidelines. If you have any issues or concerns, please contact me.
7. Again...the event is now 3 hours long, so try to stagger your arrival times.
Â
This is a popular park, so don't be surprised if you have to walk a ways. Â If you come via land it should be a nice 1/1.5.
This park is somewhat accessible by the Erie Canal (Tonawada Creek). Â There is no kayak launch or landing per se, but we have managed to get canoes and kayaks in here before. Â If you come via water this will be a 1/5!!
There is a nice new playground, bathroom facilities and dog friendly. Â Bring the kids and grandkids!!
