Celebrating 20 years and 2020 - 2 mo. to go! Community Celebration Event

Since I was a bit apprehensive about having the Community Celebration on my geowedding anniversary that I got to spend at a Mega, so I decided to hold my event on a different remarkable day to get this done and hopefully people can get their new icon.

November 1 is a weird day...its the day after Halloween. 

Costumes and Trunk or Treats are encouraged!

• This year, daylight savings time ends at 2am...and there is a full moon...and there is exactly only 2 months left of 2020! Yay!
• For those of you that practice, it is All Saints Day. Pick your favorite saint!
• On this day in 1512, Michelangelo first displayed the Sistine Chapel
• In 1604, Shakespeare debutes Othello. In 1611, he debuts The Tempest.
• In 1784, General Marquis de Lafayette is granted citizenship in Maryland (my home state!).
• In 1800, John Adams moved into the White House.
• In 1922, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk takes Constantinople from Mehmed VI, proclaiming the Republic of Turkey and bringing an end to the Ottoman Empire
• In 1975 - The CO was born at 1:10 am in Washington DC. This day is special because I always find caches on November 1!!
• In 1977 - US President Jimmy Carter raises the minimum wage from $2.30 to $3.35 an hour, effective from 1st Jan 1981

• 2020 - Geocachers celebrate 20 years of Geocaching and only 2 months left in 2020! What a year it has been!!! 

• LET'S CELEBRATE!  There will be prizes awarded around 2:30pm.

There is a playground for the kiddies, and there will be a geocaching trivia contest for the adults. 

Come out to celebrate in the middle of NJ for the NJ caching community!

THERE ARE A FEW THINGS THAT WILL BE HELPFUL IN LIGHT OF THE PANDEMIC:

1. PLEASE POST YOUR WILL ATTEND (AND HOW MANY PEOPLE WILL BE ATTENDING IF NOT ALL WILL BE POSTING).  

2. If you will be staying for a long period of time, PLEASE WEAR A MASK.  There will be hand sanitizer.

PLEASE DO YOUR BEST TO KEEP THE COMMUNITY SAFE! Do not attend if you are feeling ill or have tested positive for Covid.

3. Please bring your own chair if you would like to sit.  This will help keep 6ft distance. There is a pavilion with tables, but please maintain a 6ft distance from others who are not in your household.
