I originally planned this Geocaching Community Celebration Event to commemorate my 10,000th find in November 2020 but Covid restrictions forced me to cancel. I've been meaning to plan something else but when I heard of our dear friend's passing, I knew exactly what to do.
Let's CELEBRATE the life and geocaching "career" of the one and only KINDERKEN. Ken had such an impact on so many of our lives.
Given the unpredictability of the weather this time of year, this is an indoor event being held inside the Fish Creek Library on the third floor. This means it is fully accessible for all (except for our canine friends, sorry), kid-friendly, and comfortable. There will be activities for adults and kids alike to honour our friend, just keep in mind we are in a library setting please.
When you post your "will attend" (or as a note if you cannot attend) feel free to post photos of Kinderken or special moments / memories that you had with him (or bring them to the event).
There will be a station set up where you can write out some thoughts or memories, which will be given to Ken's family afterwards as a special keepsake from the Calgary Geocaching Community. Details / instructions and materials will be provided at the Event
Date: Saturday, November 5th 2022
Time: 12:00hrs - 14:00hrs (12:00pm - 2:00pm)
Location: Fish Creek Library, Calgary (3rd Floor)
Please register for this event by logging your Will Attend with the number of people in your group.
If you are feeling ill the day of the event, please stay home.
