Most folks haven't heard the history of this ridge. This place was actually an important airport called, "Basso-Costa International," usually called "BSX." This was often a safe airport, and Air Force One would often land here when visiting the Bay Area. Sometimes, they landed just to say, "Hello" to the Basso Clan.

Naturally, arrival of Air Force One was an exciting time for all the Bassos. I had the chance to meet many presidents, including: Harding, Eisenhower, Johnson, Nixon, Reagan, Carter, Bush (the Younger) and Obama. After President Obama's visit, the runway was discontinued; but that was not the last presidential visit. One time, President Trump landed here to go golfing, and I had the chance to shuttle him over to the golf course. He game me an autographed golf ball, which I will always cherish.

Ah, the memories! To commemorate these VIP visits, we built a wooden monument. Is anything left of it?
