About the Dog Swamp Castle
This derelict castle building at Dog Swamp, in the Perth suburb of Yokine, used to be part of The Land of Make Believe display centre. The Land of Make Believe was a fairytale themed display center created by the Brisbane and Wunderlich brick and pottery company in the 60s. It was originally located in Nedlands - close to Stirling Highway - but was relocated to Dog Swamp in 1980. The display centre featured small buildings based on fairytales. The castle was known as Old King Cole’s Castle, named after the figure in the British folk song/nursery rhyme. The small brick castle is reached by crossing a moat and has an arched entrance, crenellation, a tower, and balistraria (arrowslits).
About the Cache
You do not need to proceed past the fence to retrieve the cahce. The cache is a camo painted preform tube. Please bring your own writing implement, as one is not provided!
