Placed for the 2020 MiGO Winter Social this is a regular sized cache located along the Portage Bikeway between Constitution and the Mall. Trail is open from sunrise to sunset. No night caching. DO NOT STOP on Constitution Drive to attempt this cache. If you are not accessing this cache via the trail, parking by Celebration Cinema is the closest parking spot. (See Waypoints).
Nanjing (alternatively romanized as Nanking) is a city of 8.4 million located along the Yangtze river in eastern China. Currently the capital of Jiangsu province, it is recognized as one of the Four Great Ancient Capitals of China having served as a capital of various Chinese dynasties, kingdoms and republican governments dating from the 3rd century to 1949.
Nanjing has many important heritage sites, including the Presidential Palace and the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum and is also known for famous historical landscapes, mountains and waters such as Fuzimiao, Ming Palace, Chaotian Palace, Porcelain Tower, Drum Tower, Stone City, City Wall, Qinhuai River, Xuanwu Lake and Purple Mountain. There are currently 52 active geocaches within a 30 miles radius of downtown Nanjing.
I have modeled this cache container based on Nanjing's historical city wall. Not as big as the Great Wall of China, but impressive. Many of the bricks in the wall have markings indicating what town they came from.
