2. This cache has been placed for the CARW event with the intention that it not be located prior to 9:00 a.m. Saturday February 22, 2020. The caches for the CARW event are released early so that the geocaching community has an opportunity to plan their routes and strategies prior to the event start.

In actuality while it be true that Tortuga was a major pirate port, it also be true that Port Royal be a primary base of operations for privateers to harass the spanish fleet.
according to wikipedia (which is sometimes even right, AAARRRR) From Port Royal, Christopher Myngs sacked Campeche and Henry Morgan attacked Panama, Portobello, and Maracaibo. Additionally, buccaneers Roche Brasiliano, John Davis and Edward Mansvelt used Port Royal as a base of operations.

What would a piratey cache be without treasure. you shouldnt have to dig too much for this one. (good thing too as I find myself short on crew members and I narent do manual labour myself.). ye be lookin for a round treasure chest bout the size of the powderboys head. She be more RUSTy than MISTy but still a thing of beauty. be sure to trade a bit of shine while your there but ya better put the treasure chest back or the Cap'n will be lookin for ye.
