Fléron (en wallon Fléron) est une commune francophone de Belgique située en Région wallonne dans la province de Liège. Elle comprend les anciennes communes de Fléron, Magnée, Retinne et Romsée.
La plus ancienne trace du nom "Fléron" date de 51 ans av. J.-C.
Selon une légende, un jeune esclave fut nommé "Flos" grâce à sa joliesse semblable à celle d'une fleur. Il devint bientôt un riche horticulteur très reconnu. On baptisa la ville qu'il habitait "Fleuron" qui se transforma en "Fléron".
La commune possède des armoiries qui lui ont été octroyées le 12 septembre 1980. Ce sont celles de la famille d'Arberg-Valangin d'origine suisse qui acquit la commune en 1688 et la posséda jusqu'à la fin du XVIIIe siècle.

Fléron (in Walloon Fléron) is a French-speaking commune in Belgium located in the Walloon Region in the province of Liège. It includes the former communes of Fléron, Magnée, Retinne and Romsée.
The earliest trace of the name "Fléron" dates back to 51 BC
According to legend, a young slave was named "Flos" because of his flower-like prettiness. He is a wealthy horticulturist. On baptized the city he lived in "Fleuron" which turned into "Fléron".
The municipality has coats of arms granted to it on 12 September 1980. It was the Family of Arberg-Valangin of Swiss origin who acquired the commune in 1688 and owned it until the end of the 18th century.
