This is a quiet and unassuming little park on the banks of the Ohau River. It is popular with locals for the relatively easy access to the river for kids to play in the water holes and for dogs to get to have a swim. I certainly used to love coming here with my dogs when they were alive.
But being quiet and unassuming, it can also be popular as a place for teens to hang out with your mates of an evening, which has a habit of causing rubbish to get discarded irresponsibly. Please come and help give it a spruce up. There are picnic tables to sit down and chat at once the tidying has been done. Any little ones might like to play in the river (please keep an eye on them at all times).
This event is timed to start shortly after my other local event GC8FNKK Leap Year Celebration finishes, so I'd love to see you at both. Attending this event will reward you with (if it matters to you) a special new add-on badgelet on PGC for attending a CITO on Leap Day. If you have not previously attended a CITO on Feb 29th, then obviously this will be your only opportunity to earn the add-on for another 4 years.
I will have a few plastic refuse sacks, and a couple of crates for any glass or cans etc that may be recycled.
Please bring gloves and sturdy clothing, especially for your legs and arms in case of encountering any Blackberry or Gorse or suchlike.
I look forward to seeing you there, for my first ever CITO event :)
