This cache is part of my Eagle Scout project. Becoming an Eagle Scout is the highest honor in Scouting. It takes years of hard work and dedication. You have to earn at least 21 merit badges, perform service in your community, help the environment, and take a leadership role in your troop. The Eagle project is the final requirement to become an Eagle Scout.
The cache name Cheerful, is one of the points of the Scout Law. The Scout Law has 12 points. Each is a goal for every Scout. A Scout tries to live up to the Law every day. It is not always easy to do, but a Scout always tries.
This geocache is one of 12 different geocaches at 12 different locations near other Eagle projects in and around Lynden for a Cache to Eagle series. “Cache to Eagle is a partnership between Geoscouting, the Boy Scouts of America (BSA), and Geocaching.com to highlight Eagle projects across the nation” (Scouting News).
