A cache to highlight Vernon's Walking trails A map may be obtained from inside " Vernon's Thunderbird Diner"
The trails are located behind 'Vernon's Thunderbird Diner'. They are a combination of roads. trails through woods, and tracks which lend themselves to waiking,hiking.snowshoeing,& cross country skiing in season. A disk golf course in use all year long.We have permission to add 'Geocaching'to the list of activities along the trails.
This is a night cache only. To avoid confusion, it is best to do the three night caches in order #1, #2, Then #3..... #2 starts after one & #3 after #2 etc. ( For this cache, you need to bring a flashlight. You need a “good” flashlight, not a keyring flashlight, also bring an extra flashlight with extra batteries, just in case one fails. If possible, you’d like it to project a beam out to 100-150 feet, though we tried to place the markers closer together.) Go to the posted coordinates (N 44° 43.522' W 63° 47.359') look for the reflectors. They can be on the right or left side of the trail. Follow the reflectors along the trail. When you find three reflectors together on the same tree, you are close .Stand next to that tree and look all around to find the next set of reflectors. This part of the hunt is off the trail and can be up to 100 ft. So be very careful of low trees and branches that can hit you in the eyes (if you have sport glasses or something for your eyes you should use them for this part). You will now look for reflectors to indicate the GZ. This cache is not winter friendly but the reflectors indicate you are close.
