As well as geocaching I’m a big fan of cricket. I think it’s the numbers and statistics that appeal to me as much as the game itself. Here are some details on my favourite cricketers who will help you locate the cache:
Craig Evans was an all-rounder who played three test matches for Zimbabwe. His highest one-day international score was 96 not out against Sri Lanka in Colombo in 1996.
Tom Kendall was a slow left-arm bowler who played for Australia in the first ever two test matches. He recorded best bowling figures of 7/55 to help Australia to victory but was never selected to tour England.
Khanmohammad Ibrahim was an opening batsman who played for India in the late 1940s. He scored 85 in his first test innings but only played three more tests after that. He was India’s oldest living test cricketer when he died in 2007.
Ed Joyce was an accomplished first-class cricketer and represented England in the white ball format. He faced the first delivery in test match cricket, for his native country Ireland, in 2018 at the age of 39.
David Capel was a batting all-rounder who played 15 tests and 23 one-day internationals for England. His highest score was 98 against Pakistan in Karachi in 1987. He later went on to a career in coaching county cricket.
