Noticed this lovely " Gateway " while out walking recently on the walkway by Henderson Creek.
So did a bit of research.
Back in 2010 some students from Flanshaw Road School along with Project Twin Streams and the local Council did some work in this patch of scrub.....clearing , weeding and replanting.
In 2012 the beautifully decorated Gateway to the " Island " was blessed and unveiled!
I decided a geocache would be the finishing touch !
...Oh and sorry to disappoint you ..... it is not actually an island .
Beware if with young children as at full tide the water can be near the wee track . Also don't trip over the flax leaves as you manouvre the track.
