The sign in front of the center reads:
'In 1850 a one room log schoolhouse was built at a point where Sulphur Creek crosses the Hydes Ferry Pike. Twenty-four years later Tom Scott for whom Scottsboro was named opened a store a short distance west of the school.
One year later the Patrons of Husbandry a leading farm organization of that period, built Grangers Hall. The community and a number of churches used the hall for fifty years.'
This area may be busy at times, so be stealthy. Plenty of parking nearby, and lots of things to keep the kids active.
