Ce m-a impresionat cel mai mult când am ajuns prima dată în judeţul Sălaj au fost superbele biserici din lemn. Ulterior am aflat că Sălaj este județul cu cele mai multe biserici de lemn monumente istorice din România, 68, cu una mai mult decât Maramureş. Nu ştiu de ce cele din Maramureş sunt mult mai cunoscute, sigur există motive întemeiate, însă, pentru mine, ca nespecialist, cele din Sălaj nu sunt cu nimic mai prejos. Astfel, alăturând dorinţa de a le vizita cu pasiunea pentru geocaching, s-a născut acest proiect, "Wooden churches of Sălaj", prin care îmi propun să vă arăt aceste bijuterii din lemn.
Biserica de lemn din Prodănești se află pe lista monumentelor istorice din judeţul Sălaj.
Aceasta datează din anul 1739. Astfel, pe pristolul de piatră (masa din mijlocul altarului) este inscripţinat: "1739 de căndu sau... Să să știe cine au făcut această sfăntă beserecă din pajiște Gheorghie și cu ... a lui și clopotul în cu acelui Ghe[orghie] cu Tirilă și Dumitru"
În anul 1939 a fost renovată, iar între anii 1999-2005 a fost restaurată, ocazie cu care a fost strămutată pe actualul amplasament. Nuanţele diferite ale lemnelor trădează amploarea ultimei restaurări.
Din păcate pictura interioară a fost distrusă, doar pe alocuri se pot distinge forme din petele de culoare rămase pe pereți. Pe iconostas pictura a rezistat mai bine intemperiilor, dar este acoperită cu ștergare și icoane.
Dimensiunile ei foarte reduse de 8,5 X 3,5 o situează printre cele mai mici biserici de lemn din Sălaj.
What impressed me the most when I first arrived in Sălaj County were the beautiful wooden churches. Later I learned that Salăj is the county with the most wooden churches from Romania that are declared historical monuments - 68, one more than Maramureş. I don't know why those in Maramureş county are far more well known, I'm sure there are good reasons, but for me, as a non-specialist, those form Salaj are no worse. Thus, combining the desire to visit them with the passion for geocaching, this project was born, "Wooden churches of Sălaj", by which I want to show you these wooden jewels.
The wooden church in Prodănești is on the list of historical monuments in Sălaj county.
It dates from 1739, as it's written on the stone table from the chancel.
In 1939 it was renovated, and between 1999-2005 it was restored and relocated to the present site. The different shades of wood reveal the magnitude of the last restoration.
Unfortunately, the interior painting was destroyed, only some shapes can we distinguished from the colored spots on the walls. On the iconostasis the painting has better preserved, but it's covered with rushnyks and icons.
Its very small dimensions of 8.5 X 3.5 makes it one the smallest wooden churches in Sălaj.
