Sendo a quarta maior da Península Ibérica, a bacia hidrográfica do rio Guadiana abrange uma superfície total de 66800 km2, dos quais 11580 km2 (17%) se situam em Portugal.
Ao longo deste percurso por terras lusitanas, em que o azul das suas tranquilas águas se vai misturando com o dourado das belíssimas planícies alentejanas, há imensos segredos ocultos à espera de serem desvelados por quem ousar aventurar-se no sempre acolhedor e apaixonante Alentejo.

É este o mote para o dia 21 de Março, Dia Mundial da Árvore e do Equinócio de Primavera mas também o dia de lançamento do novo GeoTour em Portugal que terá a duração de um ano. Podem obter mais informações detalhadas no evento de lançamento, que se realiza no Observatório do Lago Alqueva, com o seguinte programa:
15H00 – Apresentação do Projeto
16H30 – Caminhada (+- 3,5KM)
19H00 – Jantar
21H30 - Observação Astronómica (uma das melhores noites do ano para efetuar a observação!)

O evento oficial tem início as 15H00 e está previsto terminar às 16H00, durante este período será apresentado o GeoTour e no fim existirá um momento para esclarecimento de dúvidas.

Being the 4th largest in the Iberian Peninsula, the watershed of the Guadiana river, covers a total area of 66 800 Km2, of which 11 580 km2 (17%) are located in Portugal.
Along this path by Lusitanian Lands, where the blue of its quiet waters, is mixed with the golden of beautiful Alentejo plains, there are lots of hidden secrets, waiting to be discovered by anyone who dares to venture into the always inviting and captivating Alentejo.
Remember: the best of Alentejo is hidden.
This is the reason for March 21, the World Tree Day and the Spring Equinox, but also the launch day of the new GeoTour in Portugal, that will last for a year. You can get more detailed informations by participating in the launch event, held in the Observatório do Lago Alqueva, with the following program:
3:00pm – Project presentation
4:30pm – Walking activity (+- 3,5KM)
7:00pm – Dinner
9:30pm - Astronomical Observation (one of the best nights of the year to do this observation!)

The official event starts at 3pm and is scheduled to end at 4pm, during the period the GeoTour will be presented and at the end there will be a moment to clarify doubts.
