Recycling
This is my first cache and was inspired by the illegal dumping of waste in and around Most of South African cities. I hope to impact the community by recycling, starting at home.
This is not a difficult cache to do, you just need to approach it logically.
Background
Drop off sites are popping up all around the country, and all need to comply with recently approved legislation. The main purpose of the provision of these facilities can be summarized as follows:
- To provide a drop-off facility as a service to surrounding residents which will allow the disposal of certain domestic waste categories, not removed via the normal kerb side collection services.
- To form an integral component of municipal strategies to eliminate illegal dumping in municipal areas, in that indiscriminate dumping of waste will be reduced.-
- To encourage waste separation at source and to provide accessible facilities for the drop-off of such separated/recyclable material. Facilities are generally provided for the disposal of cans, cardboard, paper, plastic and glass. )
Hazardous waste that is not recyclable includes:-
- • Oils and paints.
- • Batteries; fluorescent light bulbs.
- • Electronic waste; and.
- • Medical waste amongst others.
