I stopped to place a quick cache in Murry Park. When I looked it up online, I found a great story.
Adapted from a 24Nov2019 article in the Rolla Daily News:
Murry Park used to exist as little more than a small green space on the edge of a developed neighborhood. The park got a recent face lift due to the efforts of three Scouts – Erich Baur, Seth Burton and Jeremiah Jeffers. Their project encompassed over three years of planning, organization and collaboration with fellow Scouts, volunteers, city parks and public works staff. Donations and sponsorship were obtained from Bales Roofing, Kiwanis Club, Rotary, Meeks, Rolla Ready Mix, Delbert Day, Hester Wise, Phelps County Bank, Thrivent Financial and Lowe’s. The park makeover included slides, a gazebo, a bench, refurbishment of the basketball court, and new landscaping. The plans were designed by Baur, Burton and Jeffers.
Great work, guys - and thanks!
