Geocache Description:

The Presqu’ile Lighthouse is a collection of 27 puzzles caches floating in Presqu’ile Bay just south of Brighton, Ontario.

In order to solve the puzzles it will be necessary to make Google your friend.

In 1889, what was the name of the canal that opened connecting Presqu’ile Bay to the Bay of Quinte?

((This canal was in talks as early as 1794.  It would have saved time to cut through as opposed to sailing around the open waters of Lake Ontario.  It was also considered to shield the vessels from potential problems with the United States.  With decades of revisiting plans but setting them aside, the construction finally started in 1882 and opened in 1889!  Almost a century in the making!)) Nicol Hugh Baird also worked on this canal and the Rideau Canal.
