SX20 03 Windmill Wander - Sussex Snap!
The Windmill Wander series of 14 caches are hidden in the area close to the Clayton Windmills, Jack and Jill, with great views over the South Downs. None of the caches are at their given coordinates, the final coordinates for this one can be found by playing the associated Wherigo cartridge.
This is a Play Anywhere Wherigo - play before visiting the area
This will not work on a Garmin GPS - it must be played on a smartphone.
The aim of this Wherigo is simply to match two cards of the same iconic Sussex locations. When you start the cartridge you will find yourself at the centre of a series of zones representing 26 cards, two identical sets of 13. At first only the nearby start cards will be visible - select one by walking into the zone - to see more just walk around. You will then have to find the matching card - and enter that zone. One little problem - there is a time limit to find the matching card - fail and you will lose the previous matched cards, but you will get a little longer for the next match. Once you have matched all 13 cards then the cache location will be revealed. You will probably be some distance from the final location so save the game and restart it when you are close to the final.
This Wherigo is a simple Play Anywhere game. You just need an open space with about 30m (100 feet) in all directions around the point where you start the cartridge (allow the gps to settle first).
I have rated this as Terrain 2, because the cache itself is located in a position that would be impossible to reach from a wheelchair. However, as you can choose the terrain for the rest of the cartridge it should be possible for a wheelchair user to run the cartridge.
**************************************
The cache is not at the given coordinates. To find the location of the cache you will need to undertake the Wherigo, which should only take about 20 minutes.
Having played the game you can either note the coordinates and hint, and search for the cache using your normal caching software, or save the cartridge until you are in the area and then find the cache using Wherigo.
