SX20 09 Windmill Wander - From Here to There
The Windmill Wander series of 14 caches are hidden in the area close to the Clayton Windmills, Jack and Jill, with great views over the South Downs. None of the caches are at their given coordinates, the final coordinates for this one can be found by playing the associated Wherigo cartridge.
This is a Play Anywhere Wherigo - do not go to the given co-ordinates
This will not work on a Garmin GPS - it must be played on a smartphone.
The aim of this Wherigo is to move a windmill from one solid piece of land, Here, to another, There, across a marshy area. The windmill breaks into three pieces, the base, the tower and the sails. You can only pick up the top piece at any place. The path through the marsh can only support you and one piece of the windmill at a time. The pieces can only be put down on one of the three areas of solid land. If you put them down on the marsh they will sink and the windmill will be lost. Finally, you can only place the pieces on top of each other in the correct order. You can’t place the base on either the tower or the sails, and you can’t place the tower on the sails – if you put them in the wrong order, they will crush the lower parts and the windmill will be lost. The game is an implementation of the Tower of Hanoi
This Wherigo is a simple Play Anywhere game. You just need an open space with about 60m (200 feet) in one direction from the point where you start the cartridge (allow the gps to settle first).
I have rated this as Terrain 2, because the cache itself is located in a position that would be difficult to reach from a wheelchair. However, as you can choose the terrain for the rest of the cartridge it should be possible for a wheelchair user to run the cartridge.
**************************************
The cache, a 60ml double potted container, is not at the given coordinates. To find the location of the cache you will need to undertake the Wherigo, which should only take about 20 minutes.
Having played the game you can either note the coordinates and hint, and search for the cache using your normal caching software, or generate a cache zone in the cartridge, save the cartridge until you are in the area and then find the cache using Wherigo.
