The Colo River Grumpy® Power Trail
Hope you're enjoying the paddle and not getting grumpy.
Grumpy Mates which later become the start of Grumpy Old Mates (GOM) consisted of 4 cachers who put out four caches for another Grumpy Mate (The Founder) who was having a birthday.
The Colo River
The Colo River is a well kept secret mainly known by locals and regular visitors. The river is unique as it is a pristine and wild river on the border of Sydney, only 1.5 hours (65 kms) from the CBD.
The name “Colo” is derived from the aboriginal word for Koala.
The river was one of the first explored following white settlement of Australia and has a long history that is of significance to the local aborigines and the white settlers alike. It is the home of bass and platypus.
The river descends 214 metres over its 86-km course, and is fantastic for canoeing, bushwalking and swimming.
