Silver Lake Public Fishing Area is a beautiful area managed by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. After your hunt, come back for seasonal hunting and fishing. Don't forget your license!
For this cache you will be required to do some hiking. In the warmer months be prepared for local wildlife and poison ivy.
Have you ever been on a long hike and you start think, "I should have stopped at that rest area after having all that coffee!" This cache will seem very convenient for when "Nature is Calling."
As required by the Wildlife Resource Division, either a hunting license, fishing license or a land pass is required to enter a Wildlife Management Area property. These can be obtained online. Geocaching activity is prohibited during all quota and check-in hunts. Geocaching activity is also prohibited daily until after 10:00 AM during turkey season. WRD organizes hunting all year except for the months of July & August. http://georgiawildlife.com/hunting/regulations
