Placing this on my son's birthday, though that has nothing to do with it! I do have a cache named for him nearby though called Henry's Hide Too.
The container: Last year MI Barrel Makers had a CITO event to pickup around Pickerel Lake, including some old caches they were sweeping up and archiving. I went home with a small bag of trash and two containers, a small one and also this large ammo can.
The location: This is placed about 50' from my very first traditional cache find called Over the River and Through The Woods. I found that cache with my daughter Jane back in 2013, she used to go with me quite a bit. This one is placed a little higher up and further away from the stream for a little flood protection.
The cache name: This container was for a Letterbox cache called Sydney is 7 1/2 named for their daughter and it happens to be my first Letterbox cache find that I found with Jane back in 2014. My daughter has moved on from geocaching with me, but she did help me put this one together and stock it with stuff. I have a cache named after her nearby called Jane's Hide. So, a nod to both of our girls!
The hide: The usual ammo can in the woods intended to be found! But to me it is much more; I hope some people are as delighted with a find here as my daughter and I were years ago! It is placed in conjunction with a post Leap Day event, shared FTF for attendees.
