A cache placed on the popular coastal path from Kippford to Sandyhills. From this path there are great views over Portling, White Hill and Sandyhills beach. On a clear day you can see along the coast to Mersehead and Southerness, and even over the Solway Firth to the Cumbrian coast.
If you are not walking the whole way, a shorter walk would be Sandyhills to Portling, returning along the beach which has interesting caves and a natural arch. Be sure to check the tide times as the beach is only accessible at low tide. There is a public car park at Sandyhills or follow the waypoint for parking in Portling.
You will need to bring your own pen and tweezers for this one and please replace carefully so the livestock can't get it!
