[ITA] Il santuario della Madonna di Monte Berico è un luogo di culto cattolico di Vicenza, situato sull'omonimo colle che domina la città.
È il risultato dell'integrazione di due chiese: la prima quattrocentesca in stile gotico, la seconda, della seconda metà del Seicento, è una basilica in forme barocche. Nel maggio del 1904 papa Pio X l'ha elevata al rango di basilica minore.

La costruzione della prima chiesa fu avvenuta dopo che a Vincenza Pasini, una contadina di Sovizzo, apparse la Madonna nel 1426 durante un periodo che imperversava la peste. La madonna gli disse che se avessero costruito una chiesa in quel luogo la peste sarebbe finita. Nessuno le credette, non fecero costruire la chiesa e la peste continuò a rimanere nella città. Nel 1428 ebbe una nuova visione e, stavolta credendogli, fu fatta edificare la chiesa. La peste se ne andò del tutto in concomitanza con la fine dei lavori.

It is the result of the integration of two churches: the first of the fifteenth century in Gothic style, the second, of the second half of the seventeenth century, is a basilica in Baroque forms. In May 1904 Pope Pius X elevated it to the rank of minor basilica.

The construction of the first church took place after Vincenza Pasini, a peasant from Sovizzo, appeared the Madonna in 1426 during a period that was raging the plague. Our lady told him that if they had built a church in that place the plague would have ended. Nobody believed them, they did not build the church and the plague continued to remain in the city. In 1428 he had a new vision and, this time believing it, the church was built. The plague went away completely in conjunction with the end of the works.
