UNA TIPOLOGIA: IL ROSSO DI VERONA
Il rosso di Verona rientra nel gruppo dei calcari lucidabili e viene infatti utilizzato spesso per questa sua caratteristica in svariati monumenti. È generalmente ricco al suo interno di scheletri fossili, in particolare ammoniti e rostri di belemniti, immersi in una matrice dal tipico colore rosso.
Può essere estratto dalla formazione del Rosso Ammonitico Veronese o della Scaglia rossa, entrambi estraibili dagli affioramenti presenti sui Monti Lessini.
Dal punto di vista estetico, è una pietra molto versatile, adatta a essere trattata in parecchie finiture e usata in parecchi modi, soprattutto in ambito architettonico. Qui potete ammirare un esempio di utilizzo di questo materiale.

Per poter registrare come "found" questa earthcache devi rispondere alle seguenti domande:
1) Descrivi la superficie (colore, composizione) spiega anche come si presenta al tatto e come mai secondo te?
2) Alle coordinate indicate sarai sotto la galleria, esattamente nei pressi di una banda rossa di marmo in cui troverai il fossile di un'ammonite. Dove viveva una volta questo animale? Quale tipo di animale era?
3) Quali sono le misure del fossile dell'ammonite? Misura Altezza e Larghezza come indicato nella figura presente in galleria con un righello.
4) OBBLIGATORIO: fatti una foto o falla al tuo GPS/smartphone/nickname (a scelta) nel luogo della EC (no spoiler).

A TYPOLOGY: THE RED OF VERONA
The Red of Verona falls into the group of polishable limestones and is in fact often used for this characteristic in various monuments. It is generally rich inside of fossil skeletons, in particular ammonites and belemnite rostrums, immersed in a typical red color matrix. It can be extracted from the formation of the Veronese Red Ammonitc or from Scaglia rossa, both removable from the outcrops present on the Lessini Mountains.
Esthetically is a very versatile stone, suitable to be treated in several finishes and used in several ways, especially in architecture. Here you can admire an example of using this material.

In order to register this earthcache as a "found", you must answer the following questions:
1) Describe the surface (colors, rocks which compose it), describe also how it is when you touch it and why?
2) At the coordinates indicate you will be under the gallery, exactly near a red marble band where you will find the fossil of an ammonite. Where does this animal once lived? Which kind of animal was it?
3) What are the measurements of the ammonite fossil? Measure High and Windt as shown in the figure in the gallery with a ruler.
4) MANDATORY: take a photo or take it to your GPS / smartphone / nickname (at your choice) in the place of the EC (no spoiler).
