The cache is hidden at beautiful Prince Albert Park in Princeville on the North Shore of Kauai. If you have children they will surely enjoy their time on the playground. Our kids come here after school to enjoy time with their friends so we figured this would be a good spot for hiding the cache as it will be easy to maintain for us. You will also find a shelter, picnic tables and public restrooms.
To get to the cache park at the playground and walk along the path on the left side of the grass field. If you are staying in Princeville you could also walk or bike along the bike path to reach the park. After you find the cache you could continue walking along the path to spot Nene Geese and enjoy beautiful view across the gold course.
Who was Prince Albert?
On May 20, 1858, Kamehameha IV and Queen Emma’s only son Prince Albert was born into this world with much fanfare. A salute of twenty-one guns fired after the first public announcement of the prince's birth. Children visited Prince Albert with gifts, including a baby carriage with an embroidered pillow and three silk flags. People raised flags and put up colorful streamers on homes and businesses. It was hoped that the Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Hawaii would continue the Kamehameha dynasty as king.
Unfortunately, Prince Albert fell ill, experiencing sharp pains in his lower abdomen and seizures. Despite efforts to save him, including a baptism, he died at the age of four.
