Geocache Description:

As everyone knows, you don't fight a war alone: after the American cemetery, the German cemetery. Both cemeteries remain faithful to their traditions : the immaculate white of the American cemetery versus the German granite sobriety.
In this military cemetery lie 8625 Germans who died during the 1914-1918 war.
A mass grave contains the bodies of 4321 German servicemen who fell in World War I , 3847 of whom remain unknown.
The cemetery was set up in 1922 by the French military authorities in order to group together the remains of soldiers scattered over 123 communes between the Chemin des Dames and the Marne.
