Forest Forever
This is a
puzzle cache. It is not at the listed coordinates. To obtain
the cache coordinates, please solve the following puzzle.
IMPORTANT:
The access road to the cache is sometimes closed. Be sure to check online
for the status of the Cannon Beach Ecola Creek Forest Reserve.
This is a "Quotefalls" or "Drop Quotes" style puzzle, a type fairly often seen
in geocache puzzles. Or, more accurately,
three of them!
In the grids below, drop
each letter into one of the white squares below it. By moving the
letters to the correct squares, you will form 66 individual words. The
words are horizontal and are
separated by colored squares. Words do not wrap (continue) from one
line to the next.
Of the 66 words, 48 are common or
fairly common, 14 are place names and four are uncommon words.
As
mentioned, the puzzle will result in 66 words which, after a good bit of
additional processing, will lead you to a beautiful forest and a road sign
featuring a verb and a place name on the top line. Enter those two words
into the Checker below and you will be given the cache location which is in an
even more beautiful forest. Parking coordinates are included in the
Checker results.
When printing the grids, if the
solid squares don't fill in the printout, be sure to select "More Settings" and
check "Background graphics" in the Print dialog (Chrome). The
grids have html page feeds before and after, so "should" print on separate
sheets.
I have noticed that the listing
displays correctly in Chrome and FireFox, but NOT in Edge.
