Diehsa (obersorbisch: Dźěže) wurde erstmalig 1242 erwähnt. Die Reformation wurde im Jahr 1539 eingeführt. Am 25.10.1758 zog Friedrich der Große nach der Schlacht bei Hochkirch über Diehsa nach Görlitz.
Diehsa besitzt seit 1670 das Marktrecht. Viermal jährlich fand dieser Vieh- und Krammarkt statt.
Ihr befindet euch innerhalb des Marktplatzensembles: Kirche (erbaut 15./16. Jahrhundert), Kirchturm (erbaut 1802 – 1804), ehemaliges Glockenhaus (erbaut 17. Jahrhundert, 1805 zum Torhaus umgebaut), Pfarrhaus (erbaut 1730 – 1735), Gasthof und Wohnbebauung (erbaut 19. Jahrhundert), Gewandhaus (erbaut 1841), Marktlauben (erbaut 1844, 1972 fast vollständig abgerissen, 1994 – 1995 nicht vorbildgetreu wieder aufgebaut).
Die Gebäude stehen seit 1949 unter Denkmalschutz.

Jetzt müsst ihr zum Torhaus vor der Kirche (ca. 20 Meter entfernt). Also überquert die Kollmer Straße. Achtet bitte unbedingt auf den Straßenverkehr! Direkt neben den Portalen des Torhauses sind 2 Gedenktafeln eingelassen. Unterhalb der Gedenktafel links vom Tor findet ihr eine Jahreszahl. Die letzte Zahl = F

(E) Market place Diehsa
Diehsa (Upper Sorbian: Dźěže) was first mentioned in 1242. The Reformation was introduced in 1539. On October 25, 1758, Friedrich der Große moved to Görlitz via Diehsa after the Battle of Hochkirch.
Diehsa has had market rights since 1670. This cattle and crate market was held four times a year.
You are within the market square ensemble: Church (built 15th / 16th century), church tower (built 1802 - 1804), former bell house (built 17th century, converted to gatehouse in 1805), rectory (built 1730 - 1735), inn and residential development (built in the 19th century), Gewandhaus (built in 1841), market arches (built in 1844, almost completely demolished in 1972, not rebuilt true to the original in 1994 - 1995). The buildings have been a listed building since 1949.
