According to Wikipedia, the world's tallest, thickest, largest, and oldest living trees are all conifers. Three-fourths of these superlative species occur in California.
Sometimes you find cones in unexpected places. And some even conceal geocaches, like this head-high cone.
Don't go into the poison oak about 15 feet to the east, unless you enjoy that pain!
