Come Attend the Ninth Annual NorthStar GeoSeekin' Weekend!

Our event this year will be at the Beltrami County Fairground shelter next to the Grand Stand in Bemidji, Minnesota on August 21st.

We will kick off our event at 9:00 AM with games to be played, pictures to be taken, and caches to find.

We will wrap it up starting at 3:00 PM (so be back!) with determining the poker winners, door prizes and a group picture.

CAMPING

We have reserved campsites at the campground.  Bring your bike to ride to the restroom, it is at least 500' away.

Let me know if you will be camping so I can keep the campground posted on how many sites we will need.

POKER RUN

We will bring back the poker run again this year. Five temporary caches will be placed with playing cards in them. You will pick a card from each cache location. Bring the sealed envelopes with your cards back to the campground, and during the prize ceremony at 3:00 PM, we will see who has the best poker hand and prizes will be handed out for the best hand(s).

TRAVEL BUG RACE

To participate in the travel bug race, you must drop an activated travel bug with zero miles on it into the event. The travel bugs will be released from there and start on it's race to accumulate miles. The race will conclude on August 8, 2022. The only rule is that you can't move your own travel bug. A prize for the travel bug with the most miles will be handed out at next years event.

OTHER TIDBITS

Free will offerings will be accepted to fund next year's event.

If you want to attend but don't plan on camping, there are many motels in Bemidji.

There will be other activities in conjunction with this three day weekend which will be announced at a later date.

The PLAN so far is to, have a new geo art, plus a few new traditional caches published closer to the event.

Community Celebration Events - 2020

This Event is part of a limited release of Community Celebration Events to celebrate 20 years of geocaching. Geocachers hosted events between May 2, 2020 and December 31, 2020. Learn more about Community Celebration Events on the Geocaching Blog.

International Geocaching Day

This year marks ten years since the first International Geocaching Day (IGD) on August 20, 2011. What started as an idea for another way to celebrate the 2011 Geocaching Block Party has turned into a yearly tradition that celebrates our global game and the international community of geocachers that makes the game so special.

We’re celebrating this IGD anniversary with a new souvenir. Log any geocache or Adventure on August 21 or 22 to earn the souvenir.
