Celebrating 15 Years of Caching!
At St George’s Market, Belfast
on Saturday, 10th December 2022
9.15 am – 11.15 am
Today’s hosts, HALYWID HUNTERS, found their first cache, GCVM02 Ballymenoch Park Cache on 29th March 2007. Back then, we both cached. But in recent years Mrs HH has only been involved occasionally, leaving me (Mr HH) to keep looking for caches!
The original plan for this special Community Celebration Event was to hold it at Grey Point Fort in Helen’s Bay, where there used to be an excellent collection of interesting war memorabilia … equipment, uniforms, photos, stories, etc … But sadly, that collection has now been moved elsewhere, and the fort has only been open for a limited number of days this past summer. So this plan was a non-starter.
With time running out, a suitable venue needed to be found. Thanks must go to Peacockealot for seeing that St George’s Market is an excellent location for a 2-hour event. Now this one will be the third CCE to be held here in recent months!
For anyone who’s not been to an event in St George’s Market since before the COVID pandemic struck in early 2020, please note that the seating area, where this event is taking place, is now located close to the entrance on East Bridge Street (see map).
There are some great food and beverage stalls in the market, so why not grab something to eat or drink while you join us. There’s also a host of arts and craft stalls for you to browse after the event if you so wish. The event is free. There is no obligation to purchase anything, if you don’t want to.
Your host is looking forward to hopefully celebrating a significant personal milestone with you all at this event. If all goes to plan in the meantime, this EVENT will be Halywid Hunters' 6000th Find!
