Geocache Description:

09 October 2022, 10:00 - 12:00

EVENT HAS BEEN MOVED TO OCTOBER 9TH BECAUSE OF BAD WEATHER! EVERYTHING ELSE REMAINS THE SAME!

It's a Community Celebration! It's your usual event, but...different...somehow.

I usually celebrate my birthday by hosting a CITO, but I still had an unused CC credit, so let's switch it up a little!

This event is roughly two hours long, so arrive sometime between 10:00 AM and noon (or, you know, an entire hour before the event starts, as usual. I won't be there that early, but others might!). The official event end time is noon, but we'll all probably have dispursed by then.

What: Just your typical "hang out with people" event. Bring water; we'll probably provide a small bite to eat like mini-muffins or something.

Weather permitting (we'll see about this as the event draws nearer), you may want to hike around the preserve if you haven't already! Windy Hill is a great place to cache, you could go all the way to GC1CQXX and back or just do a short out-and-back on the Spring Ridge Trail. So many possibilites, let's just hope it won't be death march weather.

Location: Anniversary Trail, Portola Valley, CA 94028 (set your navigation to). Picnic tables, bathrooms, all you could ever want. If this area is occupied or for some reason unavailable (this is unlikely, but just in case), just walk over to GC1C5E1 and I'll have the logbook there.

Parking: There are two sizable pullouts on either side of Skyline right by the event coordinates. If those fill up, there ain't much else around, I'd point you towards N 37 22.011 W 122 14.848, or small pullouts between the event location and there, and you could make the 0.4-mile walk over to the event. If THAT area fills up, there are a few pullouts if you keep going south on Skyline past the event coordinates. If THOSE fill up, N 37 21.275 W 122 14.557 is your next best option, a 1.3-mile hike inside the park or an unpleasant and rather dangerous 0.6-mile walk down Skyline. And if somehow THAT area fills up as well, you might be on your own.
