Geocache Description:

30 December 2022, 18:00 - 20:00

This event was supposed to have happened on 6/20/20, but some other worldwide event was taking place and it was prudent to cancel it.

Hopefully we have had enough experience with some social distancing and are more or less caught up with vaccinations, that we can at least look at each other if only to recognise each other's eyes.

Coordinates will get you to a venue that we can (weather permitting) be outside or loosely packed inside.

There is no obligation to purchase anything, but there will be a couple food trucks and there is plenty of stuff packed into gigantic containers on site for whetting the whistle. Non-alcoholic beverages are available as well.

There will be a board for logging in on and if you can, please bring a picture of yourself taken at a cache site or your favorite place, to pin on the board as a cacher's "rogue's" gallery. Sign your name near your picture or just on the board.

There will be some giveaways of T-shirts, trackables and other little goodies.

This is a celebration as well as a rememberance to one of our area geocachers that passed away recently, JakeAsh.

He was known far and wide for his clever, creative gadget caches.

His wife Heather (MaeAsh) has generously approved of his active caches to be adopted.

I will be the one to adopt all of these and will have a sign up list for those interested in adopting his caches to continue his legacy. Once anyone has committed to the adoption of the caches, I will start the process for that to happen. Some of these caches are legendary and may need some attention and some will need some handywork to maintain.

Others are just plain fun and imaginative and well worth the hike to get to them. He loved being out in the woods.

So, let's celebrate the end of 2022 and hopefully the waning of the contageons and to raise our GPSrs in salute to one of our own.
