Without cache hiders there would be no geocaching, so let's celebrate all those hiders!
This community celebration event is to celebrate all the great hiders we have in the Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana area!
Anyone who's ever hidden a cache or hosted an event (oh heck, let's include anyone who wants to hide a cache) will get a prize!
We'll have time for giveaways, a group picture, and socializing; and if people want to go after some caches, there will be ~30 new hides (that will be released Friday night) around the event at Mt. Airy Forest Park.
Please be aware that while this event and many of the new caches are in "No Hunting" zones, bow hunting is done in the vicinity of some of the new hides (but not the event). The trails are still open, and hunting is restricted to 30 feet away from the trails, but you should still use caution and dress appropriately. More information may be found about bow hunting in this park and recommendations for hikers at https://www.cincinnati-oh.gov/cincyparks/news/controlled-bow-hunting-opens-september-24-2022/.
Again, THIS EVENT IS IN A "NO HUNTING" ZONE, but some of the new caches are not.
Here is a map showing this event, the new caches, and the "hunting" vs. "no hunting zones":
