1610 erwarb Gonzalo Fernández de Ocampo das Landgut Las Palmas von der Familie Armas. Das Landgut wird daher auch Hacienda de San Gonzalo genannt. Das Land war hier einst fruchtbar und wurde im 17 Jahrhundert u.a. zum Weinanbau genutzt.

Parkt euer Auto in Benijo, marschiert die Piste bis nach El Draguillo und nehmt dort den Wanderweg nach Las Palmas. ACHTUNG, hier ist Schwindelfreiheit und Trittsicherheit gefragt! Verlaufen könnt ihr euch nicht. Folgt einfach den Schildern, genießt den Ausblick und den morbiden Charme der Hacienda.
