Geocache Description:

Occupied by the Germans since 2 June 1918, the village of Bouresches was liberated on 6 June by the Americans of the 6th Marine Regiment, who had to hold the village until the following day without supplies.
The village is bombarded first by the American artillery and then by the Germans after the capture of the village.
At the end of the fighting, Bouresches is in ruins as many period photographs show.
The Boulder de Bouresches marks the extreme advance reached by soldiers of the 2nd US Division during the Battle of Belleau Wood in June 1918.
The Boulders are concrete monuments in the shape of a rock, erected in the 1920s by the Association of the 2nd US Division.
