Geocache Description:

First time travelers to Wichita Falls often ask “What are those little buildings at the traffic intersections?” At the published date there are twelve of these ornamental structures across the city which are part of the city’s median beautification program. The structures hide the bright stainless-steel traffic signal control boxes and help to create a friendly environment for people as they travel thru the city.

This cooperative project with the Traffic Control Division has proven to be a success for all parties. The structures help to significantly cool the control boxes which increases signal reliability and reduces maintenance costs. This is a series of caches for you to enjoy these "Little Buildings" as you tour the Wichita Falls area.

SHEPPARD MAIN GATE TOWER - 1997

The median at Spur 325 & Hwy. 240 leading into Sheppard Air Force Base seemed to be a perfect location for the next structure. After consulting with base officials about the design, it was decided to construct a guard tower style structure.

To complete this multi answer this question: How many green valve covers are near the Gate Tower?

3 = N 33 57.808 W 98 30.790
4 = N 33 57.708 W 98 30.757
5 = N 33 57.759 W 98 30.850
6 = N 33 57.712 W 98 30.882
