Geocache Description:

A small geocache hidden by a footbridge and road bridge over the Middlewood Way. This section of the Middlewood Way was known as the Middlewood Curve, and connected the Macclesfield line with the Buxton Line. It opened for rail traffic on 26th May 1885 and was unusual as one of the earliest examples of a "Flying Junction" in the country, it crossed over the 2 Buxton lines by a bridge. The Middlewood Curve offically closed in 1955. Another point of historical interest, there used to be a shop on Pool House Road called Granthams (up to the 1940s), then Jacksons in the 1950s. It was later owned by the Barkers (1970s) and the Goodisons into the 1980s. The Goodisons also owned a F1sh and Chip Shop at Hockley.
