22 Mar 20 Update: As of now, this event is still on. I visited the Field Club trail earlier today and there were a good number of walkers and joggers on it. It's a large place so it will be easy to maintain social distances. My plan is to keep it open unless the rules change.
There are plenty of spots where the trail intersects with surface roads (except Center St.). To facilitate social distancing, feel free to enter the trail at any one of these intersections. We'll meet-and-greet as we pass each other while walking. For this event, the meet-and-greet period will be the entire duration, not just the 30 minutes at the start.
Don't get in groups of more than 10, ideally less.
Don't go if you do not feel well.
Don't go if you are not comfortable being around anyone.
Stagger when and where you arrive and leave
The fresh air will do us all good.
Stay tuned. Stay healthy. Enjoy, and good hunting.
It's been a long winter. Now that Spring is here, let’s stretch our legs out, work our muscles, and get ready for the “Get Your Goat” field trip this July.
This will be a short walk down the Field Club Trail in Omaha. It is one of Omaha’s many walking and biking trails that starts at near Leavenworth and 39th Streets and goes down to Vinton and 35th Streets, just north of the Omaha silos. It is only about 3 miles round-trip from start to finish. There is on-street parking in the residential neighborhoods.

The event will begin with a meet-and-greet period from 4:45 to 5:15. At 5:15, we'll step off. My walking pace is about 18min/mile so we should be back before 6:15.
See you there!
